The aim of the Certificate Course is to educate and enable learners, both professionally and practically, to teach yoga asanas, breathing practices and relaxation to clients that have a wide variety of capacities, capabilities and experiences.
This in-depth teacher training will equip students with an underlying knowledge and understanding of yoga principles and philosophy. Students are also expected to continue to deepen their understanding and knowledge through personal practice and reflection.
The BWYQ Level 4 Certificate in Yoga Teaching (RQF) can be studied as a progression route on to the Level 4 Diploma in Yoga Teaching (RQF).
Training Introduction
This Certificate training is a new approach to learning under the banner of Flexible Blended Learning and is delieverd in units (A-C). The course is designed for those who cannot attend weekends on a regular basis and is delivered 80% online and 20% in person. The study weekends are during mornings only and the total Guided Learning Hours are given in person. During the course there is one residential held in the Highlands and this is over one week in June (2027). This course will appeal to those living remotely or those who have commitments which mean attending in person at weekends is too difficult under current circumstances. Each individual's circumstances will be taken into account during the application process. Teaching the course in units means that Flexible Blended Learning can offer students the opportunity to work at their own pace, accommodate particular individual learning differences, offer flexible learning environments and meet the diverse needs of all learners. Flexible Blended Learning is designed to reduce physical, cognitive, intellectual and organisational barriers to learning as well as ensuring fair and accurate assessment.
Course cost £2550
How the Training Works
This Certificate training is deliverd online in person and it is important to recognise that the study days need to be attended to meet the required attendance figures of 80% of the total Guided Learning Hours as GLH cannot be recouped by watching recordings or working with pre-recorded material. A number of learning modalities will include some pre-recorded material to assist learning and recordings of our sessions will be available post study days which is helpful if you've missed a session. To ensure that there is one-to-one teaching of asana, there is a residential held over one week in June, 2027 at Nedd in the north-west Highlands and attendance is essential for this element of the course. The residential is well timed so that summative assessment of teaching asana to the group will be assessed in person by the tutor with constructive feedback from the group. Each unit has an end point which avoids any overload of information as we work methodically through the syllabus unit by unit.
