A short course may be undertaken by any yoga student keen to develop a specific area of learning related to yoga. Some courses are designed for experienced practitioners and yoga teachers only whereas others may be tasters for further training and development. Short courses represent a serious commitment to an intensive or medium term of study. The course can be run intensively over a weekend, a week or longer depending on the overall aims and intended learning outcomes. A short course can be as short as a 12 hour training over a weekend up to 60 hours over a 6 month period or longer. Stated. Please apply to the tutor directly for a student prospectus where suitability and entry criteria for any given course will be clearly stated. Short courses may meet one or more of the following needs- Personal Development: Students will undertake a course of learning to enhance their own practice. Improve Teacher Skills: A course may provide specialist training just for Yoga teachers. Some include assessments where student teachers are observed applying their new skills. Working with Vulnerable people: Modules that focus on working with vulnerable people will usually have some kind of assessment element. These courses may involve working with Children or Vulnerable adults. Students may be expected to hold a Disclosure and Barring Service certificate and a Safeguarding Certificate as a pre-course requirement unless it is part of the training itself. Please check the student prospectus carefully before applying. Credit towards a BWYQ Diploma: Some Progression courses may be delivered in a modular format. These short courses are designed to generate valid, relevant and sufficient evidence which can be used as RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) towards the completion of a BWYT or BWYQ Diploma in Yoga teaching.
Training Introduction

This 60hrs anatomy embodied course is designed to deepen functional anatomical knowledge and develop somatic practices for both Yoga, Movement Teachers and Body Practitioners who would like to develop their anatomical knowledge by exploring their own body.

All classes are both practical and theory based.

The course is a well-structured and in-depth study of human anatomy applied to movement, and more specifically to yogic practices (Asanas, Breathing Techniques, Relaxation techniques).

The parallels between contemporary functional anatomy, physiology and traditional yogic texts will be mentioned.

Getting a glimpse of integral anatomy will help you make connection between all these “parts” that are not isolated in the body.

Through the myofascial web, everything is interconnected.

This is an invitation to widen you view and understand “anatomy” in a much wider, connective, bio-tensengral and integrative way.

Understanding compressions, stresses and loads in the different structures will give you indications about

what prevents movement, what can help it and when to stop.

How the Training Works

The course is composed of 8 classes, spread over 4 modules during week-ends (Friday-Saturdays):

12/13 Sept Module 1 Breath space & Arm lines

10/11 Oct Module 2 Mapping the spine, the head and neck

7/8 Nov Module 3 Shoulder & Pelvic Girdle

12/13 Dec Module 4 Knee in movement & Feet foundation All the modules are given online via zoom.

Only the practical part of the course is recorded and accessible for 30 days.

An extensive handout is sent for each modules, plus links to articles and videos relevant to the subject explored.

10 participants maximum to ensure that everyone has space for their questions and interaction.

The course is based on the most recent researches available online at PubMed, and a detailed bibliography is given in the student prospectus
