Tuesday evening hatha yoga class - Rochester

St Peters Church Hall Delce Road, Kent, ME1 2EH
Next Session: 09/12/2025
Occurs Weekly, Every Tuesday at 19:00
Hatha yoga
Teacher: Lucy McDonald

This entry is made by teacher who has been awarded the OfQual Level 4 BWY Certificate or Diploma in Yoga Teacher Training or a teacher that has completed the BWY Recognised Teacher Pathway. They have completed extensive training in Hatha yoga and may have qualified in further modalities and techniques with, or outside of, the BWY.

Entry Description

Traditional 90-minute class consisting of a ten minute breathing exercise (Pranayama), 60-minute posture work (Asana), five minute concentration practice (meditation-ish!) and a 15-minute relaxation (Savasana). The down time at the end of the class is loved by all and why this class is always the popular winner!   Please bring a blanket and extra layers for the relaxation.

Each month we work with a 'peak' posture.  Strengthening the body and improving flexability to enable the body to find its own position within the pose.

Where time allows we may touch on some of the philosophical aspects, just so we know loosely about about the bigger yoga picture. Not a biggie though - just a peak!

The hall is nextdoor to Rochester Healthy Living Centre.  Plenty of parking behind the back of the church hall if you are driving

Teacher Bio
If you are looking for a relaxed and friendly yoga teacher your search can stop now! I'm interested in creating little yoga communities where we can gather together to strengthen the body and improve mobility and have a few laughs along the way. Classes are suitable for all, from beginners to seasoned practitioners. I teach Hatha Yoga, working in a staged approach. That way we all get to work together to our own measure. I am a yoga teacher twice over. I started practicing yoga in 2008 with a BWY teacher. In 2014 I travelled to India and completed a month long intensive teacher training course. I received a distinction and enjoyed the experience on a personal level but did not feel it gave me the solid foundation to teach that I was looking for. As luck would have it in 2015 Zoe Knott and Bob Insley were starting their next round of BWY Teacher Training again so I jumped on board! Game changer and life changer! Yoga - the big picture and not just shape throwing is a practice. We never get to the end. So find a yoga community that works for you and join in. You can find out more about me by visiting my website www.yogaatplay.co.uk "Some people say the spiritual journey is too serious. That seriousness is to cut through a certain kind of laughter that is within form. Beyond that seriousness is the cosmic giggle. That’s the kind of humour, the kind of twinkle in the eye, a kind of playfulness that is a different kind of laughter. There’s personality, happiness, and humour and fun - and then there’s the transcendent quality of humour." Baba Ram Dass
