Tuesday class
This is a slow and supportive class with no standing poses. The focus is on rest, gentle floor- or bed-based movement, accessible breathing practices, meditation, and Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation).

It is suitable for people living with ME/CFS, PEM, Long Covid, PoTS, fatigue-related conditions, cancer, or those recovering from illness or treatment.

You do not need to be managing a health issue to join – it is also ideal if you are simply seeking a very gentle, quiet class with a slower pace.

Membership
With the Slow and Gentle Membership you can also attend the Monday morning meditation group and the Wednesday evening Yoga Nidra session. Membership also gives access to the library of recordings, which includes Slow and Gentle Yoga, breathing practices, meditation, and Yoga Nidra.

What Slow and Gentle Yoga includes:

Gentle breathing practices to support functional breathing
Floor- or bed-based movements to improve body awareness, reduce tension and ease movement
Accessible meditation and Yoga Nidra to support the nervous system and reduce inflammation
Pacing techniques to help manage fatigue and prevent post-exertional crashes
Micro-movements and stillness – move as little or as much as feels right, or simply visualise
Vagal nerve support – traditional yogic breathing methods shown to help regulate the nervous system, improve parasympathetic tone and support heart rate variability
Interoceptive awareness – tuning into subtle sensations to support emotional regulation and overall wellbeing
Mindful awareness to gently shift how you relate to thoughts and worries

Teacher Bio
About Me I have been teaching yoga full-time for over 24 years. My teaching is rooted in traditional yoga while also drawing on contemporary approaches to movement, wellbeing, and therapeutic support. I aim to make yoga gentle, accessible, and adaptable, so that people of all abilities can experience its benefits. I understand that many people may feel uncertain about joining a yoga class – there is a lot of variation and so they are perhaps concerned that it will be too strenuous, too fast, or simply not suitable for them. My classes are designed to be slower, quieter, and responsive to individual needs. You can take part in ways that feel right for you, day by day whether through mindful movements, breathing practices, deep relaxation and meditation, or simply resting in a group setting and listening. Alongside weekly classes, I have led residential retreats, co-trained on teacher training programmes, and delivered Yoga Nidra teacher training. I continue to assess final classes for yoga and Yoga Nidra trainees at Mandala Ashram in Wales. For over 16 years, I have taught a specialist class for people living with ME/CFS and fatigue-related conditions. More recently, I worked with Sheffield Hallam University and an NHS service on a research project offering yoga for people with Long Covid. My initial training was a two-year course with Swami Vedantananda Saraswati (Bihar School of Yoga), accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga, which I completed in 2000. In 2019, I undertook Pete Blackaby’s humanistic yoga course, which continues to shape my approach to movement and breathing practices. I also offer pranayama, meditation, mudra, bandha, and Yoga Nidra. Additional training includes working with Fiona Agombar on teaching yoga for people with ME/CFS and Long Covid. I have a personal interest in living well with chronic conditions such as endometriosis, RSI, hypothyroidism, and back pain. I have trained in the Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs evidence-based programme, as well as the Neuro Orthopaedic Institute’s Explain Pain course. These studies have deepened my understanding of the latest pain research and supported both my teaching and my own practice. In 2023, I also completed training in Therapeutic and Reflective Writing Techniques with the Professional Writing Academy, and I now run Yoga and Writing for Wellness workshops, bringing together yoga, meditation, and expressive writing.
