Description

We often hear about neurodiversity these days, but it remains a new area for many. While about 1 in 7 adults is neurodiverse or neurodivergent, many remain undiagnosed, particularly women. Yoga can be an ideal practice for this population, for the heart, body and mind. Guided by lived experience and yogic wisdom, this interactive session offers a chance to begin to explore how these unique needs, gifts and challenges can be a comfortable part of general classes, and for the profound benefit of all, including teachers. There will be a balance of Q&A, theory and practice.

This session will be approximately 50% lecture and discussion and 50% practice but the precise composition will depend on the dynamic of the group and how questions lead us.

This would make a perfect introduction for anyone interested in attending BWY Yorkshire's event with Carol later in the month:

About Carol

Collaboration, warmth and intuition are at the heart of Carol's teaching; she encourages inquiry, autonomy and the natural unveiling of each individual’s inner guide.

A lover of silence, she has an appreciation for meditation and the subtle practices of yoga, having spent time on extended retreat in India, Europe and the UK, and noted the positive impact of this on everyday life.

She has personal experience of hypermobility, and of working with adults with the gifts and challenges of neurodiversity.

Originally a linguist, she has had an active interest in cultures, values and the universal human condition for as long as she can remember.
