Description
Yin yoga is practice where we consciously slow down and stay in shapes for several minutes. An aspect of this practice is influencing energetic flows through the body. One way of approaching this practice is through the map of acupressure points. This is about accessing what can be translated as ‘threads that connect’ (sometimes these are called ‘meridians’). The aspiration is to become more well within our bodies: and this wellness is inclusive – body heart mind.
There will be some theory and discussion but the session will be mostly practice.
About Norman
Norman is one of the most experienced Yin yoga teachers in the country. He has been teaching the extended Yin workshops since February 2003 and he began a weekly Yin yoga class - at the North London Buddhist Centre - in September 2003. This was perhaps the first regular timetabled class that used the term 'Yin yoga'. He now teaches regular Yin yoga classes/workshops at Indaba, Life Centre, the Shala and West London Buddhist Centre. And 4pm on the first Thursday of each month at the Life Centre, Hill class, it's in silence: the joys of silent Yin...

Tickets
BWY Members: you can attend this session live, free of charge as part of your membership - but you will need to register for a ticket below. You only need to book a ticket if you wish to attend the live session - please see the Recordings section below.
We welcome people from outside of the BWY and have made tickets available at a cost of £20 per session to cover administrative costs. If you would like to attend more than one session per year, it would be worthwhile considering joining the BWY for this benefit alone.
NB If you would like to purchase a non-member ticket, please register for a free account here first: https://portal.bwy.org.uk/register. Then the non-member ticket will appear at the bottom of the event screen.
Tickets will be available to purchase until noon two working days prior to the event to allow time for administration or if the event reaches capacity.
Zoom link
Once you have booked your ticket for the event, you will be able to access the Zoom link from the Meeting Information tab in the event.
Recordings
Once the session has taken place, we aim to have the recording available within 48 hours, although it is often sooner than this. Everyone who registered for the live session will be able to access the recording via the Meeting Information tab or via My Resources/video library, which is where BWY Members can access recordings of all previous Member Sessions (ensure you are logged in).
Health Questionnaires
You do not need to submit a health questionnaire, however if there is something that you wish to bring to the attention of the event organisers or the tutor, please email events@bwy.org.uk at your earliest convenience. All information will be handled in line with the BWY Privacy Policy.
