Description
A yoga workshop exploring the role of the head, neck, jaw and tongue in classic yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation with additional insights from the world of Rolfing (structural integration). A little attention paid to the head and how we organise it can be a total revelation! All too often it is just assumed it will put itself in the right position, but this is not always the case! Learn ways to reduce stress in the neck and jaw, free the fascia that wraps the head and neck and relate the head to the spine and the torso more comfortably and intuitively. This workshop is accessible for all, it is not athletically demanding but it is detailed and full of interesting material for everyone from beginners to seasoned yogis! There will be a lot of 'self help' content for you to take away to explore in your own time as well as so detailed anatomy and sensory work finding out about how our vestibular and nervous systems help us navigate through the world. Leave the day feeling alert, well oriented and back in your head!
You will need a yoga mat, a blanket, a yoga block or two and a small hand towel that can be rolled up to support the neck. Additionally if you have a favourite meditation stool or cushion please do bring that along. You will need a packed lunch (there is a Tesco express next door) and some warm socks and a jumper.
