Description
This is one of our annual workshops, open to all and in-person to make it a social event as well. As it is an evening workshop it will only be for two hours rather than the usual 3 hours, which is reflected in the ticket price.
It will take place in Newton Hall near Durham City, in a cosy church hall with a kitchen available for hot drinks if required.
Yoga does not work with the physical body - We asana the Body away
The aim of the workshop is to make participants aware of our belief in a solid body and how the senses and mind contribute to that.
Angela will introduce relevant Sanskrit quotes to show how the practice of Yoga, whose traditions instruct us in the overcoming of senses and mind, can help us overcome the body illusion.
By the end of the workshop, you will be more aware of the unreliability of the senses and mind, and how to recognise that in your life and more fully understand some Gita verses. Hopefully, you will leave feeling a higher aliveness, experiencing a state of being body-less, and feeling encouraged to further engage with the yoga tradition.
