Description

Surya Namaskar is often seen as a cornerstone of traditional yoga practice. It can sometimes feel inaccessible to some students, or over time the practice can become stale.

Over the course of the day, we will explore each of the postures within the Surya Namaskar sequence, making them increasingly accessible and meaningful.

We will develop the energetic aspects of the practice by discovering the impact of focusing on the chakras (energy centres) as we
move through the practice and the impact of introducing mantra into the practice.

Simple visualisation will be used to enhance the overall accessibility and experience of the practice.

Throughout the day each aspect of the practice will be introduced to make it accessible to those who are new to it or to increase awareness of the aspects of each practice for more experienced practitioners.

The day will comprise asana, pranayama, mantra and yoga nidra practices.

A recording of the Yoga Nidra practice including Surya Namaskara visualisation will be available for those that attend.
