Description

How to run Yoga workshops Days and Retreats

How to facilitate Yoga Workshops, Days and Retreats.
We are going to look at the  current situation in the Yoga scene and Lina will share her 20 years experience of running these types of Yoga events with teachers who may wish to branch out into this area.  It is also aimed at those already teaching them and who may want some new ideas and inspiration. There will be some simple stretching and breathwork interspersed with lots of information and sharing on the chat and in breakout rooms.

Day Course outline:

This session is intended to help yoga teachers to develop the confidence, knowledge and skills that are needed in order to offer longer teaching session:  this will cover evenings/mornings/afternoons and also weekend retreats.

I will aim to share my own experience in facilitating retreats and helping tutors to avoid the pitfalls.  The course will be a mixture of personal practical work, looking at the tutors personal special skills.  An examination of Yogic themes and practices.  It will also cover marketing and costs.

A view of the current Yoga scene will be discussed. It will be very interactive with questions being posed regularly about the students own experience of teaching & facilitating these types of sessions.

As the day is very theory orientated Yoga activations of the body & breath will be interspersed as needed

Aims of the course:

·        To give teachers a clear understanding of how to run a longer Yoga session from mornings to retreats and confidence to do so.

·        To examine differences between a yoga class and how the longer time together affects both student and tutor

·        To give teachers ideas of what the content can be included and to consider adding value to the experience

·        To consider what additional resources are needed

·        To be aware of marketing and costs and risks involved

Objectives:

By the end of the day the students will:

·        Have given thought to the difference between taking regular classes and longer sessions

·        Examine their own skills and special interests in Yoga and other complementary therapies or activities

·        To have the confidence to plan their own longer sessions
