Description
To become familiar with key Marma points related to the 3 doshas and gain some practical experience on how to work with them in Asana, Pranayama and Meditation practice To become familiar with some key meridians (nadis) used in therapeutic and tantric traditions and learn practical applications in asana, pranayama and meditation practice. By the end of the day, students should be able to:
Locate some key Marma points related to the three Doshas and work with them during their Yoga practice. Student will not be required to learn about the doshas in depth as this is an experiential day.
Apply pranayama and relaxation techniques to work with some key Marma points therapeutically.
Differentiate between Ida, Pingala, Sushumna, Arohan and Awarohan
Become familiar with Marma therapy and how it can be used in Common ailments. Students will also have revised the basic principles of Ayurveda in order to understand the context of the above work.
10.00- Meditation on the key Marma points
10.10- Introduction to Marma and Nadi- Powerpoint lecture and discussion.
11.15- Break
11.30- Asana practice using Marma points
1.00pm- Lunch
1.45- Pair work- Locating the marma points
2.30- Marma therapy for Common ailments
3.00- Comfort break
3.10- Using Mantra, Pranayama, Visualisation and Meditation with marmani.
3.30-Introducing the Yogic nadis and revising the marmani in Yoga Nidra
4.00- Finish
Additional Information
What to Bring
Please bring along your Yoga kit, including belt ,blocks ,mat and blanket. Please also bring yourself a packed lunch. Tea and coffee will be available.
Parking is available at the entrance to the Hall.
